Margo is an inspiring sustainability leader and educator with over twenty years of experience helping schools embed global citizenship and environmental thinking into everything they do.
This means not just teaching about sustainability but preparing young people with the practical skills and mindset they need to live it in the face of real-world challenges.
As Editor of the SATIPS Sustainability Broadsheet and webinar host, she is passionate about sharing best practice and celebrating the inspiring work schools are doing to create a greener future for their pupils. Over 23 years as a geography subject lead, Margo has had the privilege of guiding schools to three consecutive Primary Geography Quality Mark Gold Awards and multiple Eco-Schools Green Flags. She has also contributed to Teach the Future's sustainability redraft of the Primary National Curriculum. The Global Citizenship Pathway framework has been recognised by ISI and awarded The Week Independent Schools Guide's Best Green Initiative. I was delighted to present the Pathway at this year's IAPS Headteachers Conference.

I believe deeply that the most important thing we can do for young people is to prepare them for an unpredictable and challenging future. This isn't about creating fear or overwhelming them with problems, but about equipping them with the knowledge, skills and character they need to thrive and make a positive difference.
Having worked in schools for over twenty years, I also know firsthand how challenging it can be to engage and embed meaningful sustainability education into busy school environments. When time is precious and competing priorities demand attention, sustainability often gets forgotten or becomes an add-on that lacks the depth and impact it deserves. This is precisely why the Global Citizenship Pathway focuses on embedding rather than adding — making sustainability a natural part of what schools already do brilliantly.
I hold an optimistic but realistic view that we can make a difference. I've seen firsthand how powerful young people can be when they're given the tools, opportunities and belief that their actions matter.

All schools are at different stages in their sustainability journey. But one thing's for sure: making sustainability a priority that is taken seriously — with real continuity and integrity — can feel like a frustrating, overwhelming task. Whether you need help getting started, embedding sustainability across curriculum areas, engaging stakeholders, or creating meaningful pupil action, I'll work alongside you to create lasting change that feels authentic to your school community.
Engaging CPD sessions exploring why sustainability matters and why Prep Schools have a wonderful opportunity to lead. Build confidence to naturally weave global awareness into existing subjects, align with your school values and transform eco-anxiety into empowered agency.
